CMFG Life Insurance Company 5710 Refresh Renovation Project is located at 5710 Mineral Point Road in Madison, Wisconsin. Hunzinger Construction Company served as general contractor for this 48,000 square foot renovation project designed by Plunkett Raysich Architect’s Madison office.

This 48,000 square foot interior renovation project included, multiple locations throughout the facility with all work being completed in a fully functioning occupied office. This extensive project included new private offices, newly finished restrooms with new tile and glass tile backsplashes, ceramic accent walls and new fixtures and toilet partitions. White noise and telephone privacy rooms were added to allow for personal cellphone use. Their training room capacity was doubled and two large conference rooms and a breakout area were wholly remodeled. An employee c-store space was created including a café style coffee bar with hot and cold beverages services, a self-serve check-out system, and sundry other food service items. A new connector electrical system was installed along café seating and conference rooms for employee connectivity to help minimize tripping hazards. New high-efficiency exterior glazing and updated mechanicals throughout make the entire space more comfortable for employees and more energy efficient.

Hunzinger Construction Company served as general contractor for this 95,000 square foot renovation project. Finish renovations were designed by Owner’s in-house design staff. The scope of work included:

  1. Lift landscape furniture, remove and recycle all existing flooring
  2. Remove and replace all rubber base
  3. Place new carpet tile & return landscape furniture to existing positions
  4. Patch drywall as necessary throughout
  5. Paint walls and door frames like-in-kind
  6. Replace vinyl wall covering

This interior renovation project included renovation at five (5) floors of the 5710 Building with all work being completed in a fully functioning occupied office environment. This multi-phased project was completed in September 2015.

 

We have been working with Hunzinger since 2000 and I can honestly say that they have been absolutely great to work with.  The Hunzinger team has completed multiple projects in multiple locations over the years but most of their work is being done within the occupied campus buildings of our Corporate Headquarters. On the rare occasion that the work may impact or disrupt our staff in the normal day to day operations, an alternative action plan is planned and agreed to in advance.  Their workers are professional, respectful and courteous as they go about their assigned project. Interaction with our staff on a day to day basis is almost a requirement and they fit seamlessly into our corporate culture.  The teamwork and trust that we have developed throughout the years is a key to the overall success of our projects.  Both Jim Hunzinger – Owner, along with Mike Christensen – Sr. Project Manager have been our go-to liaisons since the beginning of our relationship and I believe we set the bar high on performance and they have always delivered on what they have committed to.   I would be remiss not to mention the outstanding Project Managers and the site Superintendent that we work with on a day to day basis and the great work they do as well.  The Hunzinger team has become trusted advisors and I hold them in very high esteem and more importantly, I can count on them to deliver. Overall, I really enjoy working with Hunzinger and appreciate having them on our team.”
