As a family and employee owned, we believe in being able to grow within the organization and in supporting our people in their professional endeavors. We are proud to announce promotions of Andie Rodenkirch and Dan Von Rueden. Thank you for all your hard work!

Andie Rodenkirch was promoted to Project Executive. Andie is a 24-year Hunzinger veteran who has risen in the project management ranks to SPM and recently completed Komatsu’s South Harbor Campus where his role was manage the site development while working closely with Komatsu’s Smart Construction Division. The 58-acre Komatsu construction site was rendered a brownfield by successive industrial users, but such working conditions are not unfamiliar to Andie who had been on several sites like this. After Komatsu, he was the SPM on GEA in Janesville. GEA was a new 86,000 SF building that included office space and a training center for customers and employees, a repair shop for mechanical equipment and loading docks with additional office space to service logistics. The new facility features numerous measures to make it a net-zero facility including a high efficiency heating and cooling system, solar panels, LED lighting, electric car charging stations, recycling, and water reuse possibilities.
Andie is currently managing the Foxtown Landing project that is developed by Tom Nieman, owner of Fromm Family Foods. The facility is a 39,000-square-foot, three-story building on the Milwaukee River and the corner of North Plankinton and West St. Paul avenues in downtown Milwaukee. The project also includes an extension to the Riverwalk with a riverfront terrace and docks for small boats and kayaks. Foxtown Landing will have entertainment venues, restaurants and bars on each floor with events space on the second and third floors, and a distillery, speakeasy and brides’ and grooms’ rooms in the lower level. This tight site has posed numerous challenges for our team, but Andie has proven that these challenges can all be overcome.

Dan Von Rueden was promoted to General Superintendent. DVR has been with Hunzinger over a dozen years as the Superintendent that we would turn to for tough, high-profile jobs from The Deer District to multiple projects on the Summerfest Grounds including overhauling the American Family Amphitheater and lifting its roof to building Komatsu’s new headquarters, he led some of Milwaukee’s most complex projects. Then came the $80 million Milwaukee Repertory Theater Project where he and the team were tested but through his leadership, perseverance, and sheer will, successfully completed the project on time!
DVR is always seemingly a blur, always moving fast as he strives to exceed expectations on every project. He becomes engrossed in whatever he’s working on and seeks to overcome unexpected obstacles. He is motivated by his family and faith and approaches each project the same – we are going to knock this one out of the park. He dives deep into any new project headfirst and gets super excited to take on the new challenge. His attitude is one of the reasons he is such a great mentor for our younger field crews, PE’s and APM’s. He knows that every project teaches you and you can implement the new ideas or strengths you gained from your last job on the next one. Taking in every opportunity to get better keeps him motivated. We are excited for what the future holds as he takes on this expanded leadership position.
