Virtual Construction Coordinator (VCC) at Hunzinger is responsible for implementing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process and utilizing the latest Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technologies to elevate and enhance the building process at Hunzinger Construction in Brookfield, WI OR Denver, CO. The VCC is part of the Construction Technical Services Team and reports directly to the Vice President of Construction Technical Services. The VCC is responsible for collaborating with Hunzinger’s estimating, preconstruction, and project management teams in addition to communicating with Owners, Architects, and Engineers. The VCC has strong computer, technical and communication skills along with a thorough understanding of all building systems and construction methods and works to achieve our mission of complete project quality control and total client satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) strategies for clients and manage the implementation on multiple projects.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive BIM Guidelines and Coordination Front End Specifications.
- Develop BIM Project Execution Plans during the Construction Phase.
- Provide oversight of the project Design and Construction Teams to ensure that the requirements of the client’s BIM Guidelines are properly and adequately addressed.
- Provide an overall BIM Coordination Schedule for the coordination meetings and milestones.
- Coordinate the initial BIM Coordination Kickoff Meeting for the project team and run BIM Coordination Meetings either onsite at project location or remotely.
- Coordinate all 2D & 3D models from Architects, Engineers, and other Consultants to be kept current, organized, converted, and distributed to all trade partners.
- Create and maintain a clean and current Federated Model comprising of the latest models from Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Trade Partners.
- Setup and run all clash tests as well as analyze & organize clashes, create clash reports, and distribute to Coordination Team for review.
- Create, update, and maintain 2D overlay drawings and plot for coordination sign-offs – as applicable and dependent on project requirements.
- Organize, update, and maintain project BIM Folder on both local drives and external file share sites.
- Keep subcontractors on schedule and aware of deadlines while providing technical expertise & general guidance as needed/applicable.
- Create, update, and maintain log of coordination issues and meeting notes and distribute to project team weekly.
- Provide oversight in the development of the final as-built model to be delivered to the owner at the end of the project.
- Provide quantity takeoffs and assist to verify original estimate quantities for cost reports
- Quantity survey, quantity review and system input for labor costing
- Assist to develop the 4D modeling schedules
- Assist in site logistics and when requested create and provide graphics, simulations, or animations in 2D, 3D, & 4D as applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or closely related field. Associate Degree’s in related field encouraged to apply.
- Project management experience managing the BIM/VDC process in the AEC industry working for an architectural, engineering, contractor or prime subcontractor firm is helpful
- Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with the following technology platforms as well as typically used terminology, standards, and practices:

General Summary / Essential Purpose:
This position is responsible for planning, preparing, organizing, implementing, and executing all safety administrative and performance requirements for an assigned project in accordance with Hunzinger Construction Company Corporate Safety Program. This person will assist in the development and implementation of project specific safety plan while fully integrating with the project team to support the safe production and quality work. This position’s main focus is to sustain consistency in safety compliance while providing new and innovative ideas to help build and promote teamwork, morale and growth.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant field experience.
- A combination of equivalent work experience, training in the field, and/or Occupational Safety and Health certificate programs through the OSHA Training Institutes or other national recognized safety training organization (whether certificates or degree programs), professional certifications such as CHST, may be qualifying.
- Three or more years applied work experience (or equivalent) in commercial construction industry required, with three or more years’ experience (or equivalent) in construction safety management at the jobsite level.
- Competent person training or experience in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical, Trenching/Excavation, PPE and Scaffolding required. Other related professional degrees or certificates desired and will be considered “in lieu of” competent person training.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour (within past 5 years) certifications required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts continuous routine inspections of projects, observing, and documenting deficiencies as well as noteworthy safety practices that are consistent with required expectations.
- Tracks deficiencies and leading indicator trends to identify repeated at-risk behavior and conditions and reports deficiencies to appropriate subcontract and project leadership and leads efforts to implement corrective action and processes through coaching and training and/or issuing appropriate safety violations.

- Conducts team, supervisor, and all hands safety training based on needs of the project, noted/trending deficiencies, indicators, and general safety processes and requirements.
- Leads and collaborates with team in investigating all safety incidents to determine cause, implements corrective actions and training, and reports incidents, as required, to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepares and submits all periodic and end-of-the-month reports as required to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Establishes and executes site specific safety milestones, awards, and recognition incentive programs with project team to promote a culture of safety.
- Coordinates with and supports the Executive Assistant in procuring all safety supplies and safety signage for project.
- Updates project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) when required.
- Participates as a member of the Safety Department team, providing innovative ideas for process improvement and standardization.
Working Conditions:
While working on the jobsite, individuals will be outside on an active construction site, in a trailer with job site management team, and at clients’ facilities. Job walks and inspections indoors and outdoors are required. Jobsite appropriate attire, including PPE, is necessary.
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours and provide emergency response as needed and travel to project job sites will be required.

General Summary / Essential Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Coordinator is to represent the Hunzinger Construction Company’s commitment to excellence and brand consistency, by overview of product and installation techniques as dictated by corporate Quality Assurance Manual and procedures. The QA Coordinator serves as a resource to Project Managers, Field Superintendents, and foremen across the company and identifies critical elements of the project that require particular scrutiny to maintain high performance standards and quality. Working with the Hunzinger team and our subcontractor partners, the QA Coordinator addresses process, documentation, testing, constructability, logistics, safety and installation requirements affecting quality to achieve a high level of quality for each projects and works to achieve our mission of complete project quality control and total client satisfaction.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or closely related field and experience in construction quality control OR 3 years in construction quality control for similar facilities such as construction installations on large, commercial buildings.
- 3-5 years of project management or QA/QC experience managing in the AEC industry working for an architectural, engineering, contractor, or prime subcontractor firm.
- Quality Control training is required.
- Ability to act as a specialist in quality control, keeping up with changes in the industry and updating staff as well as corporate for any necessary procedural updates.
- Working knowledge of construction codes for various trades.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project while maintaining friendly, businesslike relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors and Suppliers. You are a salesperson for your company and will maintain close contact with Architects, Engineers and Owners and endeavor to assure that work is in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Review contract, drawings, specifications, and plan and schedule the project with the Superintendent. You will prepare, approve, and process all purchase orders and subcontracts in collaboration with the Executive Vice-President and will coordinate with the General Field Superintendent, Project Superintendent and Expediter for personnel, construction materials, supplies and equipment to be available in timely fashion for the project. Complete responsibility for contract administration of Hunzinger’s contract and all Subcontractors and Suppliers. Must have a thorough knowledge of Company’s contract with Owner and each contract or purchase order with Subcontractors and Suppliers.
Establish the project in Procore to maintain project documentation. Prepare and distribute all minutes, monthly reports, and any other required documentation. Set up project controls to monitor project progress including an analyzed estimate, a project construction schedule, and a project cost report (PCR). Assist the Accounting Department with the preparation and submission of pay requisitions. Develop schedule of values. Prepare accurate monthly projections, as required, of project profits at completion. Identify which issues are changes in the scope or conditions of the project. Ensure that structure of pay requests are such that we receive full credit for work in place and ensure pay requests are submitted on time.
Secure and maintain all permits required by contract and ensure the Company has the insurance required by the contract and that Subcontractors have proper insurance bonds. Assure project compliance with Company policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring that the Corporate Safety Program is implemented and working with the Safety Director and Job Superintendent to ensure that the project meets established safety goals.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project while maintaining friendly, businesslike relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors and Suppliers. You are a salesperson for your company and will maintain close contact with Architects, Engineers and Owners and endeavor to assure that work is in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Review contract, drawings, specifications, and plan and schedule the project with the Superintendent. Establish the project in Procore to maintain project documentation. Prepare and distribute all minutes, monthly reports, and any other required documentation. Set up project controls to monitor project progress including an analyzed estimate, a project construction schedule and a project cost report (PCR). Assist the Accounting Department with the preparation and submission of pay requisitions. Develop schedule of values. Prepare accurate monthly projections, as required, of project profits at completion. Identify which issues are changes in the scope or conditions of the project. Ensure that structure of pay requests are such that we receive full credit for work in place and ensure pay requests are submitted on time.
Secure and maintain all permits required by contract and ensure the Company has the insurance required by the contract and that Subcontractors have proper insurance bonds. Assure project compliance with Company policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring that the Corporate Safety Program is implemented and working with the Safety Director and Job Superintendent to ensure that the project meets established safety goals.

Hunzinger Construction Company, a ‘Top Workplace’ and employee-owned company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. Assistant Project Managers at Hunzinger work closely with Project Managers and SPM’s to ensure that the administrative and technical aspects of a project is executed as required by the contract documents. They coordinate project submittal control and checking, project document distribution and control, maintenance of Change Order Request Logs, and Request for Information Logs. They maintain historical set of drawings and specifications. They can also assist the Superintendent with field coordination and job site safety enforcement. They may assist the Project Manager with pricing, trade contractor bidding, writing commitments to subcontractors and cost reports. They also support our mission of complete project quality control and client satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor schedule with project team, input progress weekly and produce reports for planning as directed by Project Manager and Project Superintendent, update schedule weekly and distribute as appropriate.
Prepare, coordinate and maintain the RFI, CO and Submittal Logs, update each weekly, or as needed, and have a thorough understanding of each.
Prepare final punch list with Project Manager and Project Superintendent and assist in its execution.
Always maintain high standards of professionalism and commit to Hunzinger’s mission of achieving excellence in the marketplace by understanding and exceeding customer expectations through integrity, honesty and ethical conduct.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or closely related field.

FIELD SUPERINTENDENT – Denver CO
The Superintendent will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality, and trade contractor and supplier coordination and work in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team. The Superintendent reports directly to the Vice President of our Denver, CO office and will be involved in the following aspects of our construction projects:
Work Procurement
- Participates in the marketing effort by establishing relationships, maintaining a network of possible clients and project leads.
- Participates in interview process for potential new business.
- Participates in determining sequence and activity duration on schedules for proposed projects.
- Helps to look for project leads.
Client Loyalty
- Understands and communicate to all field personnel the owners’ goals, as they relate to the project.
- Maintains positive relationships with the owner and architect throughout the project(s).
- Provides technical expertise throughout preconstruction process.
- Participates in the Constructability Review.
- Assists in the management of the preconstruction schedule and estimate
Safety
- Ensures job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors. Continually strives for Zero Injury on all projects.
- Leads on-site safety meetings.
- Performs daily safety inspections and corrects any potential safety hazards on the jobsite reports any violations/incidents.
Planning
- Reviews the plans and specifications for constructability and schedules.
- Advises project team of design or constructability concerns and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Understands the contract between us and the owner.
- Understands project estimate and budget set-up.
- Understands trade contractor and supplier contracts and scopes of work.
- Assists in quantity takeoff and pricing estimates.
- Prepares, manages and updates the detailed project schedule.
- Establishes the punch list process and close-out procedures with the Project Manager, Owner and Architect before trade contractor work starts. Maintain a zero punch list
- Schedules and procures resources necessary for the success of the project.
- Mentors and trains other employees as necessary.
- Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination, planning and execution of all field related activities.
Job Requirements:
- High School and completion of Vocational School, and/or college degree
- 8 to 10 years related field experience in equivalent role
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Excel, Primavera, Microsoft Project.
- Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with Value Engineering and life cycle costing.
- Commitment to the enforcement of safety standards.
- Demonstration of leadership and works well with all members of a project team.
