Meagan DeGroot has joined Hunzinger as an Assistant Project Manager. She comes to Hunzinger Construction after working for the past 3 years at Pepper Construction’s Milwaukee office as a Project Engineer where she provided management support for tenant improvement projects for CBRE Milwaukee Corporate Office, Old Republic Surety Company, Advocate Aurora Oak Creek Orthopedics and Sports Rehab Center. Prior to Pepper, she worked at JP Cullen as a Project Coordinator for a couple of years.
Born and raised in Racine, Meagan earned a degree in Sport Management from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside. This degree led her to coaching at the Olympic Development level for Wisconsin and US Soccer and the analytical and team management skills she gained during her coaching career have been instrumental in her construction professional journey. She is enthusiastic about joining Hunzinger and will be working on the Milwaukee Rep Theater renovation project led by Vice President Project Executive Jon Jansen, Senior Project Manager Jon Sheahan and Superintendent Dan Von Rueden. New APM Matt Janecke rounds out the PM team and is no longer the newbie, thanks to Meagan!
Hunzinger is excited to welcome Matt Janecke as an Assistant Project Manager. Matt graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy and a Master’s in Public Administration, with a concentration on Municipal Management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For the last 13 years Matt has been working in the public sector as the Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Brown Deer, the Town Administrator for the Town of Lisbon and the Assistant Director of Utilities and Public Works for the Village of Menomonee Falls where he developed a passion for construction projects and decided to pivot careers. He is also a combat veteran having served oversees in Kuwait as part of the 32th Brigade, Battery A 1-120th Field Artillery in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
Matt loves spending time outdoors and enjoys a variety of sports. Matt has joined our Milwaukee Repertory Theater Renovation Project Team headed by Project Executive Jon Jansen.
Robert Torres has joined Hunzinger as a Project Engineer. He comes to Hunzinger Construction after serving 4 ½ years in the US Army and also graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a degree in Construction Management.
Rob was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He joined the US Army after graduating from high school where he was a Horizontal Equipment Engineer operating machines. The Army took him primarily to the west coast, but he also completed 2 active tours. Rob worked for his brother-in-law’s luxury home building company in California while on breaks from school. In his spare time, he likes to camp, and he enjoys overlanding or working on cars that go off road.
He is eager to get to work on the GEHC Trout Project led by Project Executive Kevin Lally, Project Manager Jody Owens and Superintendent Dave Klermund. This 160,000 SF renovation includes a façade update and extensive site work at GEHC’s Waukesha Campus.
Paul Newberry has joined Hunzinger as a Senior Project Manager. He comes to us with 18 years of construction experience. Paul has spent the last 12 years working for i2 Construction in Denver, CO where he was hired as a Project Manager but earned a promotion to Senior Project Manager. At i2 Construction, Paul managed projects ranging from $900,000 to $10 million.
Paul says he loves the sense of accomplishment of seeing a project through from conception to completion. He enjoys working in a team environment along with the satisfaction of handing a completed project over to a delighted client. Paul is driven by his passion for the industry and is looking forward to utilizing his wealth of knowledge, experience, and problem-solving skills at Hunzinger.
Paul attended the University of Wisconsin – Platteville where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology Management-Building Construction Management.
Dennis Polheber has joined Hunzinger as a Superintendent. He comes to Hunzinger Construction after working for the past 10 years in construction as a Carpenter and later Superintendent. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a major in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
Dennis is an experienced construction superintendent who has overseen all project phases from proposal to completion. He works to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and compliant builds. Dennis has a track record of prioritizing client involvement and safety, coordinating with trades and management and maintaining daily logs.
He communicates effectively and has joined the Project Management Team on the massive Milwaukee Repertory Theater renovation. The team is led by Project Executive Jon Jansen, Project Executive Jon Sheahan and Lead Superintendent Dan Von Rueden.
