Intern Spotlight: Alayna Cypher

Every internship offers an opportunity to learn something new, and Alayna has made the most of her summer with the Hunzinger team. As a Project Engineer (PE) intern at the WE Energies site in West Bend, she’s gained valuable hands-on experience, built meaningful connections, and seen firsthand what it takes to succeed in the construction industry.

Here’s what Alayna had to say about her experience:

“Going into my sophomore year at UWM means I still have endless things to learn. Since I’ve been on the West Bend WE Energies site, I have met many amazing people and gained insight I will use for the rest of my life and career. I have loved getting to tour all the different sites that Hunzinger is currently working on and being able to help out in West Bend. Even though I have yet to see one, my favorite task on site is my turtle walk! The site is on wetlands, so the city requires us to walk and check for turtles and wildlife once a week.

Your connections and communication is the most important thing you can have in this field. I would give future interns the advice to try and meet someone new everyday. You will gain so much more knowledge talking to people out in the field than anywhere else.”

Thank you, Alayna, for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to have you on the team this summer and look forward to seeing all you accomplish!
