Hunzinger Interns: Kyle Hayward, Hilton Steele, Andrew Beine, Zeke Adkins, and Tessa Walker

Hunzinger Construction Company has promoted Alex Kimmet to Estimator. Alex joined Hunzinger in May of 2022 as a Project Engineer after graduating from Marquette University with a degree in Civil Engineering. In his two years as a full-time employee, he has tackled his work with an eagerness to learn from the best estimators in the industry who just all happen to work at Hunzinger. He has earned a Q3 Award for his work ethic and work on multiple projects. Alex is always willing to expand his knowledge and understanding of not only how to put a hard bid, self-perform estimate, and/or budget together, but also learning how projects get built in the process. Alex has a thirst for growth in the sense that he has a willingness to take on more complex projects, with a desire to be correct and accurate.

Additionally, Team Hunzinger can always count on Alex to participate in charity walks and events like participating on Hunzinger’s Trivia Team, representing Hunzinger at college career fairs, and serving on the AGC’s Construction Leadership Council (CLC).

Alex recently was appointed to the CLC, relieving Christina Sladky from the position she held for the last 5+ years. The CLC is a group that was established to fulfill the need to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the construction industry, as well as in the AGC, both at the local and national levels. The purpose of the CLC is to act as a conduit for participants to network, exchange ideas about work and the industry, serve local communities, and continuing education which includes both professional development and leadership skills.

Every year, the CLC Steering Committee puts on a variety of events. Through tours of high-profile construction projects, they offer a unique perspective of the construction process. By bringing in expert speakers, they give a broad spectrum of rising professionals a chance to hone their leadership skills. They strive to connect to our community through volunteer events and to our industry through outreach to our local student chapters and universities. Networking events will also offer these students and professionals a chance to develop their connections within the industry. Thanks for agreeing to serve on the CLC and congratulations on the promotion – double congratulations Alex!
