Hunzinger is dedicated to achieving excellence by understanding and exceeding customer expectations through integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct. Tradition, quality, safety, and attention to detail will result in long-lasting client relationships built on trust, and the highest level of professionalism. We will always “Do the right thing”.

Hunzinger delivers high quality projects on time and within budget. We are one of the most experienced firms in the industry. Our estimators and Project Managers rely on the most up to date cost information available, cutting-edge technology, wide-ranging subcontractor input and extensive experience to develop budgets that bring real value to projects. We work as a team to determine the most effective approach while also maintaining the integrity of the project design and program.

Community Involvement

At Hunzinger, we firmly believe that it is our charge to be an active community partner with organizations whose mission is to help others.

We have developed a robust community outreach program of support and encourage all of our employees to seek opportunities that share our passion. Being actively involved in our community provides everyone at Hunzinger Construction Company the opportunity to be thankful for what we have and an opportunity to give back. In keeping with our driving value proposition “Do the right thing”, here are some of the organizations that we are proud to support.

COMMUNITY BUILDING EFFORTS

As a fourth generation family-owned business, supporting organizations whose mission it is to help others is what we at Hunzinger believe family is all about. For us, family is the most important part of life, making everything else we do worthwhile. At Hunzinger Construction Company, everyone, whether you are an owner or a carpenter in the field or a project manager or an accountant in the home office, is encouraged to embrace their family values and to reach out to the greater community. By volunteering our time and donating our skills, we can positively impact families across Wisconsin – because we care and because we can.

MUSICIANS ON CALL

Musicians On Call (MOC) is a national non-profit based in Nashville that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare environments.

The late Kevin O’Toole (KOT) loved to play and listen to music and how he truly believed in the healing power of music. Kevin was someone who put his beliefs and values into action and was a very involved MOC volunteer and Board Member.

From 2013 until his passing in October of 2021, KOT passionately led MOC as Secretary and was elected Vice Chairman shortly before his death. His dedication and vision helped MOC build the foundation to be a best-in-class organization that exceeds industry standards in all areas.

KOT is deeply missed, and we encourage all of you to follow his advice and “Dance like no one is watching” in celebration of our beloved friend. Click on the link below to donate (and check the box that this is a memorial gift in honor of Kevin O’Toole) or write a check to Musicians on Call and leave it on Joan’s desk or in her fax folder.

LAD LAKE OF WISCONSIN

Hunzinger employees support Lad Lake of Wisconsin at their Annual Kettle Classic. Employees and their families take part in running, biking and walking for this event in support of Lad Lake’s mission of guiding growth and changing lives of more than 1,500 boys and girls ages 10-20 each year. In addition, Hunzinger employees annually support Lad Lake as part of their monthly Charity Jeans Day Program. Hunzinger’s Executive Vice President, Jim Hunzinger serves on the Board of Directors.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS CONSTRUCTION DAY

With the help of two Hunzinger employees that serve as “Bigs” in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, Hunzinger created a program called Construction Day specifically designed for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee. During Construction Day, matches learn about construction tools, safety on the jobsite, different careers in construction and education needed for a construction career. At the end of their session, matches are assisted by Hunzinger superintendents in a group led workshop where the kids build their own wooden construction project. To date, the matches have built and painted their own birdhouses and created their own wooden candy dispensers.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS TROOP SHIPMENT

Hunzinger Construction Company started a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee to involve “Littles” and “Bigs” in the Hunzinger Troop Care Shipment Program. Matches participate in a special Christmas shipment where each match donates, creates, packages and decorates their own personal care package to be sent overseas to our soldiers during Christmas time. In addition to creating their own care packages, Hunzinger brings in a speaker, often times a former recipient of Hunzinger’s Care packages, to speak with the matches regarding life as a soldier, share stories, and allow the kids to try on and learn about the equipment they use.

INHABIT MILWAUKEE

Inhabit is a Christian organization that brings restoration to hurting neighborhoods in Milwaukee. They buy foreclosed homes, fix them up, and then recruit individuals to intentionally live in these homes in order to serve the people of that neighborhood – pouring out their lives for the benefit of those around them. Through these relationships they tutor kids, mentor teens, hold Bible Clubs, art classes, music lessons and more. Hunzinger’s Executive Vice President, Jim Hunzinger serves on the Board of Directors and we annually support this organization in Charity Jeans donations and attendance at fundraising events.

HUNZINGER CARES: CHARITY OF THE MONTH

Charity of the Month is a fundraising program by Hunzinger Cares to raise money for local non-profit groups. Every month employees suggest worthy recipients and have the opportunity to donate funds to the selected charity. Hunzinger matches dollar for dollar all donations. It’s a great way for our people to connect with our community and deliver the much needed support for causes important to them and their families.

Hunzinger Construction’s 2019 Holiday Troop Shipment

Big thanks to the Delafield, WI Post Office for helping get Hunzinger’s latest troop shipment of 108 boxes weighing an average of 35 pounds each off to the 31 recipients stationed around the world. Hunzinger has now shipped over 90 tons to our brave men and women in uniform. This incredible effort was made possible by our donors and volunteers.

Since early 2006, Hunzinger Construction has spearheaded an effort to send much needed supplies to our troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Engaging other companies, community members, local schools and service organizations, we have donated and shipped over 90 tons worth of items from our Hunzinger offices in Brookfield, WI. This program has grown from sending food, toiletries, books, greeting cards, gifts for local kids, and much needed socks and undergarments, to one soldier in the Army when we began in 2006, to sending quarterly shipments to well over 100 different military units. Donations for the Troop Care Package Program can be delivered or dropped off at: 21050 Enterprise Avenue Brookfield, WI 53045

Beginning in 1998, eight similar construction firms came together from Wisconsin, Indiana, Southern California, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Washington, Pennsylvania and Kansas, founding a National Peer Group with an initial goal of providing an in depth review of each others company operations, the sharing of best practices, and seeking continuous improvement. The early years of this effort achieved outstanding results as the sharing of information among the firms provided real opportunities for measurable process improvement. The evolution of the Peer Group experience was the formation of National Construction Solutions Group® (NCSG®) which today represents a consortium of national construction firms with combined annual revenues in excess of $5,000,000,000. NCSG® member firms participate in all construction market segments and offer a collective experience that is unparalleled in the industry. As an active member of NCSG®, each firm has access to similar state-of-the-art project historical cost data, delivery systems, means & methods utilized, preconstruction value and systems analysis, and project personnel that have specific expertise that can be relied on. When coupled with each firm’s experience and assigned project staff, we offer this value added unique perspective to the planning and execution of your project to ensure an efficient and cost effective delivery.
