PNC East Capitol Bank Branch is located at 275 East Capitol Drive in Milwaukee, WI. Hunzinger Construction Company served as the General Contractor for this 1,800 square foot build-out for a new PNC branch bank designed by Timothy Seidel – Architect, LLC.

The project achieved a LEED Silver certification for Retail: Commercial Interiors. The build out received the certification because an efficient lighting design was developed and implemented to reduce overall lighting energy consumption. We also installed automatic occupancy sensors that control lighting and energy efficient dimmable fixtures that can be adjusted to occupant preference.

High priority was placed on specifying construction and finish materials that were made from recycled materials and can be recycled in the future. Throughout the construction, we followed a rigorous Indoor Air Quality Management Plan that we had developed to improve the quality of air inside the space. The plan included provisions such as protecting the air handling units from dust generated during construction and the use of healthier, low VOC paints, adhesives, and interior finish products.

“The PNC bank project was great because PNC as a company has the most LEED Certified buildings in the world and they have their own LEED consultant. For Hunzinger, and for me personally, it was great to work with a client that was so well versed in LEED and so committed to its principals. At the start of the project, we had a number of conference calls to establish and understand the LEED goals and documentation requirements and that set the stage for an incredibly smooth job. It was a great experience for us and the project achieved their sought after Retail: Commercial Interiors Silver certification.”
