Wisconsin Center Milwaukee Convention Center – Phase I & II is located at 400 West Wisconsin Avenue in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, WI. The convention center is Milwaukee’s largest Design/Build Project. It provides the city with 200,000 SF of exhibit space and 15,000 SF of meeting rooms, as well as a 38,000 SF grand ballroom. Engberg Anderson served as the local designer who coordinated the design efforts and Hunzinger headed up the construction efforts managing the local subcontractors and minority and women owned construction firms that were utilized on the multi-year, multi-phased public project.

The exterior design was executed with the style and materials symbolic of the cityscapes of Milwaukee. High-end finishes grace the interior and exterior of the facility. The structural steel building is clad in brick masonry, precast concrete and glazed curtain wall. Two rotundas with spires serve as focal points and entrances to the facility. Wood and fabric wall finishes are used extensively in the ballroom, along with recessed modern chandeliers. State-of-the-art features that have been incorporated in the facility include fiber optics, satellite links, electronic signage, bar code readers, automated billing and imaging systems, as well as, complex sound and security systems have been incorporated into the facility.
