Engberg Anderson is located on the 5th Floor of 320 East Buffalo Street in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. Hunzinger served as general contractor for the interior renovation of this industrial building, known as the Dye House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places that would become the new corporate home to Engberg Anderson. This project received a LEED Rating: LEED-CI Gold from the United State Green Building Council.
The new 18,000 square foot office space, designed by Engberg Anderson, consists of drafting, interior design, modeling and accounting areas, private offices and conference rooms. The office showcases expansive views both through the space and out to the surrounding cityscape. The project received its LEED-CI Gold certification because more that 75% of the construction and demolition waste was diverted from landfills. The project contains extensive natural daylighting and utilized under floor air distribution. It uses an energy efficient Chiller/HVAC system and increased ventilation 30% above ASHRAE 90.1 2004 standards in addition to using City steam for hydronic heat that uses waste steam from a local power plant. The project achieved a 47% reduction in water consumption due to low-flow plumbing and waterless urinals and purchased 100% of energy from renewable sources. Sustainable products and materials were used throughout.
