Translational and Biomedical Research Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin is located at 8701 W. Watertown Plank Road in Milwaukee, WI. Hunzinger Construction was hired as the General Contractor for this 30,000 square foot build out of two new labs and accompanying research and development office space. This million dollar project involved the build out of approximately 30,000 square feet of laboratory space with one large lab on the basement level and another large lab on the first floor of the TBRC building. Each lab facility had 10 smaller rooms that contained lab and office space adjacent to the larger labs. Construction responsibilities consisted of selective demolition, concrete, masonry, structural steel, steel studs and drywall, carpentry, roller shades, bathroom accessories and partitions.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to work on projects that you know are going to have a major impact for the greater good, and working to build new research and lab facilities really makes you feel like you are a part of something positive and important.”
