KOMATSU SOUTH HARBOR CAMPUS:
Hunzinger served as Construction Manager for Komatsu’s waterfront headquarters, in Milwaukee’s South Harbor District. The Komatsu Campus includes a 410,000 SF manufacturing plant, a 180,000-square-foot office building with a training facility, museum/visitor’s center and a 450-car parking structure. The project was designed and built to green building standards with the goal to reduce energy consumption by 75% and reducing water consumption by 80%. City of Milwaukee officials have said it will be the largest ongoing urban industrial-development project in the country. The project has rigorous diversity and inclusion goals including a 25% small business enterprise utilization requirement and a 40% City of Milwaukee Resident Preference Program utilization requirement. Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) is the design team which includes GRAEF as the engineering firm.
