ABB, Inc. is located at 16250 Glendale Drive, New Berlin, WI. Hunzinger served as construction manager for this 160,000 square feet multi-phased commercial renovation. The project also included an expansion of both their office and manufacturing operations all executed in an occupied environment.

Maximizing reuse of the existing building was paramount for this renovation that included major interior and exterior as well as site work improvements. Key upgrades included new front conference areas, a company store, an applications lab, a new office building façade, a café with a grab ‘n go kitchen, break areas, restrooms, a new main entry lobby focused on customer experience and finally a secured production employee entrance.

There was over 25,000 square feet of full-scale interior demolition and renovations. We also rebuilt the exterior façade with a high performance envelope of new structural support framing, weather barrier system, aluminum composite panels and storefront glazing.

A new receiving addition and north site access road were built and their Research & Development Labs were expanded and renovated. All new mechanical/HVAC systems and controls were installed.

Eppstein Uhen Architects was the designer of this LEED Silver certified project.

This facility is the cornerstone of ABB Automation Products’ product development, applications design, manufacturing and servicing of AC and DC drives, control systems, motors, generators, and power conditioning and power quality systems.

I want to thank Hunzinger for all your great work over the last 18+ months of execution on the Glendale project. Your dedication to safety, professionalism and flexibility led to a successful project…We can celebrate this great achievement and your contribution to ABB’s future success.
