Thousands of fans packed the Deer District outside Fiserv Forum Thursday to watch the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Brooklyn Nets in the third game of the NBA’s Eastern Conference semifinal series, the first time in more than two years a large crowd had gathered on the plaza. While the Bucks were knocking off the Nets 86-83 inside Fiserv Forum in front of a near capacity crowd, a huge crowd of fans filled the Deer District, hanging out in the plaza cheering on the Bucks, while eating and drinking at Good City Brewing, MECCA Sports Bar & Grill and Drink Wisconsinbly Pub.
In addition, there were several food trucks and merchandise carts set up for fans. It was almost a near normal feeling for an area that had been hit hard by the pandemic.
Unlike the first round of the playoffs when there was a capacity limit of 3,500 fans and a mask mandate in place, there were no limits on Thursday since the city of Milwaukee dropped its capacity rules and mask mandate on June 1.

Inside Fiserv Forum Thursday evening, there was a crowd of 16,310 fans, just under the allowed capacity of 16,500.
The arena has a normal capacity of 17,341 and will be allowing 16,500 fans for the remaining playoff games. It will be considered full capacity because of some changes in the courtside configuration enacted throughout the playoffs.
Capacity previously was set at 9,100 people per game for the first round of the playoffs.
