Scott Wendt Named by the Milwaukee Business Journal a Person to Know in Real Estate and Construction

In the October 27th Special Section of the Milwaukee Business Journal Hunzinger Vice President/Project Executive Scott Wendt was named one of ten “People to Know in Real Estate and Construction”. Congratulations to Scott!

In his 20 years at Hunzinger, Scott has developed a vast network of friends and colleagues who are developers, engineers, architects, subcontractors and suppliers and he serves as a hub for sharing information and marketplace knowledge. He is relied upon by many for anything from providing cost per square foot, sustainability opportunities, best contract types, life cycle estimates, answering site stability questions and anything else a real estate broker or developer may want to know before moving forward. 

Scott has transitioned from a leadership position in Hunzinger’s Project Management where he managed a wide range of projects from area school districts, numerous projects with for Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Admirals, high tech manufacturers like Zund North American Headquarters, and numerous projects for GE Healthcare and Harley Davidson and over a dozen projects for developers like Wangard Partners and Interstate Partners to his role as Vice President/Project Executive. At his core, he is a builder and developers and owners know they can trust his expertise and counsel as accurate and true.  He brings an insight of what works and what doesn’t, and he utilizes the full strength of Hunzinger Construction Company to make sure projects get done on time and within budget.

In addition to managing projects, Scott has taken on the role of mentor to rising young construction professionals. He has developed into a strong leader of not only our project managers, but of Hunzinger overall, bringing a dedication and deep understanding of the construction business to his work. He is very detail oriented, and client focused which results in extraordinarily happy owners and team members.

Andy Seiter Names a Newsmakers Estimator of the Year

Congratulations to Andy Seiter LEED AP BD+C and Hunzinger Estimator on his Newsmakers Estimator of the Year Award.  Andy joined Hunzinger in 2004 after graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a B.S. in Construction Management and a stint at T.A. Mason Company.  For almost 20 years Andy has been a reliable, stable presence in the Estimating Department providing accurate and thorough estimates and bids on a wide range variety of projects. He was involved very early in Hunzinger’s role at the Komatsu South Harbor Campus project focusing on the site work and the history of the topography and the water tables. He took a deep dive into the history of the property to help develop an insightful strategy for successfully building on the site. He worked throughout the Komatsu project on everything from the 180,000 SF office building, the 650-car parking structure, and the 430,000 SF manufacturing facility and its nearly 100 individual machine foundations.

Andy has become a dependable resource for providing estimates on office renovations. A small sampling of his past successful projects includes the Baird Center multiple door replacement ($1+ million), Folley & Lardner Law Office Renovations, the MGIC Corporate Office Renovation, Masterlock Company Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI, Old Republic Insurance Company, ABB, Inc. Corporate Headquarters Office Renovation in New Berlin, WI, and multiple projects for Harley Davidson Corporate Headquarters at 37th and Juneau. This is only a partial list of Andy Seiter’s estimating projects he is not only a proficient and accurate estimator, he also serves as a mentor to many of our young professionals.

Dan Parente a 26-year Hunzinger veteran is not only a journeyman carpenter, but for the last 18+ years has worked as a superintendent. He can now add Newsmaker of the Year as a Super Super to his list of accomplishments. Parente served as Hunzinger’s Superintendent for self-performed concrete foundations for the Komatsu South Harbor Campus 430,000 SF Manufacturing Facility and as the lead superintendent for the 2 largest machine foundations in the facility.

Parente is incredibly dedicated to his work. He studies, plans, shares the plan with his field crews and leads the team to execute flawlessly. He team, clients and subcontractors all enjoy working with him as he sets a professional and collaborative work environment. His dedication throughout the Komatsu project was incredible as some of the concrete pours started at 3 or 4 in the morning and went on for 12-14 hours! Dan never left his post. His attention to detail and focus to get the job done right was unwavering.

Just prior to the Komatsu project, Parente was the Superintendent for the 40,000 SF two-story Sendik’s Food Market renovation at The Corners of Brookfield. The reimagined store included new services, expanded selections and greater convenience, plus a sophisticated bistro and grill area, complete with an extensive list of wine, local craft beer on tap, gourmet espresso drinks, nitro cold brew on tap, fresh-squeezed, cold-pressed juices, and homemade smoothies. The bistro has seating for 25.  The project included new escalators that bring customers up to a new addition of 7,000 SF Sendik’s Home store on the main shopping center level. Under Dan’s leadership, Hunzinger completed this massive renovation in 10 months with the full-service grocery store remaining open and fully operational throughout the project. 

In his career at Hunzinger so far Dan has completed projects for Northwestern Mutual, Bayshore Town Center, Miller Park, Kohler, Toshiba, GE Healthcare, WE Energies and numerous healthcare projects.  Dan is currently the Superintendent for the $40MM+ Starbuck School renovation and addition for Racine Unified School District. The project will be complete in August 2024.
