The Caterpillar Machine Foundations project is a manufacturing facility located at 1900 10th Avenue in South Milwaukee, WI. Hunzinger was hired as the general contractor for this 2,500 square foot project to relocate several machines for Caterpillar Global Mining, LLC. The project includes the saw-cutting and removal of 14” deep concrete floor and excavation for the new machine pits to be cast-in-place concrete below grade. This project was being completed in a fully occupied facility and follows the successful completion of 3 machine pits in the spring of 2016. Graef served as the project engineer. Hunzinger self-performed all the carpentry and concrete work for the project. Veit & Company, Inc. completed the interior deep demolition and excavation, the concrete and accessories were provided by Sonag and Hatch. Metro Welding also served on the project.
