Building The Future Together

Hunzinger’s Summerfest Project Team helped kick off the 50th Summerfest at the Opening Ceremonies along with their sponsors, Ethnic Festival partners and the entire staff and Board of Directors on Milwaukee World Festivals, Inc.

Hunzinger is incredibly proud to have served as self-performing Construction Manager for the renovation and upgrade of the Miller Lite Oasis and the complete reworking of the Lakefront Gateway to the grounds. Both projects had exceptionally short schedules. The Miller Lite Oasis began in the dead of winter and the Lakeshore Gateway project began in March and was completed in less than 11 weeks!

For thirty years, Hunzinger has completed all projects on the Summerfest Grounds including the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard, the BMO Harris Stage and Pavilion, the Harley Davidson Roadhouse Stage and VIP/Vendor buildings, the last Miller Lite Oasis Stage Project in 2005, the Millennium Momentum Project which was an entire reworking of the north end of the grounds including the North Gate, US Cellular and ULINE Warehouse stage and back in 1987, the Marcus Amphitheater.

We are proud that we have never missed a schedule and completed every job in time for the festival season.

Designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects, The Miller Lite Oasis project includes fully renovated stage area that incorporates design elements reflective of the historic Miller Brewery and Miller Valley. The redesign also will improves sight lines by eliminating visual obstructions for a better viewing experience.  A new Miller Lite Brew House was built that offers a new covered space for Summerfest patrons. The Brew House features exclusive beverage offerings and enhanced opportunities for front row access through MillerCoors promotions.  The existing MillerCoors hospitality Deck was expanded to allow for increased promotional and experiential opportunities.

The project area also includes a redesigned Marketplace and Summerfest Store supported by TSMGI, the exclusive vendor of Summerfest merchandise, the marketplace includes a brand new Summerfest Store that is a permanent air conditioned glass building and features a large storefront with displays for an improved shopping experience. Additionally, the entire marketplace was reconfigured with permanent and expanded infrastructure for merchandise vendors.
