Building The Future Together

New Experiences Feature Transformed Community Space and Art Installations

MILWAUKEE (June 25, 2020) – Bayshore is pleased to provide this update on the progress of our redevelopment project as planned improvements to the property continue and new art installations begin to transform the center. Demolition of the former food court and adjacent retail space are completed, and work on the updated town square, newly-named The Yard, is nearing completion.

Opening to the public on July 10th with the launch of Ba

yshore’s Sounds of Summer concert series, The Yard is a new family-friendly community green space that provides greater openness and connectivity as a four-season destination. The Yard will feature live entertainment and activities with both covered and open-air seating where guests can relax and enjoy a meal as they connect with friends and family in an inviting outdoor space.

“Creating functional, open spaces for our guests is one of our key priorities,” said Kirk Williams, managing director for Cypress Equities. “The Yard is a new vibrant community space designed for people to enjoy, whether it’s experiencing a live event or catching up with friends – The Yard is the heartbeat of the property.”

In addition to The Yard, beautification work has also recently been completed on the Kohl’s plaza on North Bayshore Drive. The new plaza includes upgraded landscaping, lighting and walkways.

Bayshore Art Transformation
The first phase of our beautification work is underway with new immersive art experiences featured throughout the property. Curated by local artist, Emma Daisy, guests will ultimately be treated to more than 30 works of art by local muralists, fine artists, sculptors, fabricators, illustrators, and animators to provide an experience unique to Bayshore.

Redevelopment Updates and Bayshore Art Transformation
“Art is a core staple to invigorating Bayshore, and we could not be more excited to join with our vibrant local artist community to bring this vision to life,” said Emma Daisy, curator, artist and muralist based in Milwaukee.
