Hunzinger Project Manager, Army Reservist, and 3 time combat veteran, serving two tours in Afghanistan and one tour in Iraq, Carl Broberg, has been selected by the Department of the Army for Warrant Officer. He will leave his position as a First Sergeant and become a Warrant Officer Candidate (W.O.C.) until his active duty training begins in April of 2015. The Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) is located at Fort Rucker, Alabama and Carl will spend 5 weeks there as he completes what is a basic training of sorts for new warrant officers. Upon completion of this training, Carl will be promoted to Warrant Officer One (WO1).
Carl’s next stop will be at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri where he will attend 24 weeks of active duty training to become qualified with a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 120A, which is a Construction Engineering Technician. Following this training, Carl will be returned to reserve status. On reserve status Carl is obligated by contract to give the army 24 days a year of “drill” or “Battle Assembly” time. This is weekend training. Additionally, he performs one “Annual Training” which is usually around 14 days.
Carl will be departing C Company 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion in Green Bay WI and will be joining First Platoon of the 327th Engineer Company (VC) out of Onalaska WI. VC stands for Vertical Construction. This new assignment will allow Carl to better serve the army and the United States by applying the technical skills he has learned as a civilian project manager. Carl has spent the last 24 months working on the CUNA Mutual Group World Headquarters in Madison serving as our Project Manager. Congratulations to Carl! We are proud to have him on the Hunzinger team!
