Building The Future Together

Hunzinger is so proud to announce that we have been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Milwaukee Business Journal. The newspaper awards businesses that they believe are the best places to work in southeast Wisconsin and the basis for the selection comes directly from submissions from the employees who find their jobs to be the most meaningful and rewarding.

In recognizing the Best Places to Work, the Business Journal is giving businesses and organizations an opportunity to celebrate and share their best practices. Nearly 160 Milwaukee-area firms were nominated for the awards and the winners were determined based on scores from a survey that employees filled out. Each company that was nominated was ranked according to the 10 core areas of engagement: teamwork, retention, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, job satisfaction and benefits.

“We are so gratified that our employees feel that we are once again one of the Best Places to Work and we are committed to maintaining that positive atmosphere,” said Kevin O’Toole, Executive Vice President Hunzinger Construction Company. Read the full list of winners here.

WHY HUNZINGER IS AMONG THE BEST PLACES TO WORK:

Hunzinger Construction Company is acutely dedicated to its employees in both their career and personal development and is committed to encouraging empowerment and training for everyone on staff. We boast a lengthy roster of employees whose families have embraced the opportunity to work for Hunzinger for two and even three generations. For decades, we have fostered an environment of a blended family in which employees and owners have mingled on the job and off – on beams and in tunnels, at barbecues and ball games. This atmosphere has provided Hunzinger with a level of craftsmanship, stability, and employee longevity that creates a positive culture. Our workforce reflects our strong company culture of pride, diligence and commitment to customer service. The average tenure for our Senior Project Management staff is 24 years and Field Superintendents is 18 years. People love working at Hunzinger. Once someone becomes a Hunzinger employee, we ensure that we provide multiple opportunities for continuous self-improvement. We recognize that our employees are our competitive advantage. It is our goal to sustain this competitive advantage by providing our employees with the necessary training and exceptional benefits that allow for maximum personal and professional growth. We begin with a comprehensive multi-department employee orientation that engenders mutual respect and understanding of all within the company. Hunzinger employs a full-time staff of 48 people at our Brookfield, Wisconsin Headquarters and nearly 200 crafts workers in the field.
