Building The Future Together

Congratulations to Phil Vetterkind, Director Of Sustainability at Hunzinger Construction Company and Sustainable Building Solutions for being selected into the Wisconsin State Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame in the athletes category.  Phil is a 1994 graduate of Eleva-Strum High School where among other accomplishments, he was a 5 time WIAA State Track and Field Champion.  Phil’s athletic career continued at UW-Lacrosse where he played football and was on the indoor and outdoor track and field teams all 4 years and the Track and Field Team Captain in 1998.  Phil was a 7 time NCAA All American and 2 time Team National Champion.  He holds numerous records in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x100m and 4x400m relays. 

Phil will be honored at the WISTCA Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet in Madison in July (hopefully it will be able to be held in person).  Other past inductees include Brookfield Central’s Joe Thomas who in addition to an illustrious high school track career spent 11 years playing for the Cleveland Browns as an offensive lineman and Olympic runner Suzy Favor Hamilton.
