Hunzinger Construction Company was honored recently at the 16th annual Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award banquet held at the Monona Terrace Community and Conference Center in Madison. Hunzinger was awarded the Grand Award.

Hunzinger Named to Deloitte’s Wisconsin 75

Hunzinger Construction Company is proud to once again be named to Deloitte’s Wisconsin 75™, a ranking of the 75 largest private companies in Wisconsin, based on sales revenue. This is Hunzinger’s Tenth straight year of being listed by Deloitte.

“The Wisconsin 75 list doesn’t just include some of our state’s most recognizable brands. It also highlights many exciting and emerging companies,” said Scott Wrobbel, US central region leader and Wisconsin managing partner of Deloitte LLP. “Deloitte is delighted to recognize the important role these private companies play in Wisconsin’s economy.”

Hunzinger’s Ryan O’Toole Among Chosen as an Emerging Leader of Waukesha County

We are thrilled to announce that our own Ryan O’Toole was named one of Waukesha County Business Alliance’s Emerging Leader’s of Waukesha County.

According to the Waukesha County Business Alliance, this annual awards program honors young professionals who live or work in Waukesha County and who are creating and inspiring a better vision for the future. Tomorrow’s leaders are taking the right steps today by building a dynamic and meaningful path that will continue to have a positive impact on the community. They are taking strides to further themselves personally and professionally by showing initiative, determination and commitment.

Hunzinger’s Milwaukee Tool and Master Lock Office Projects Among Winners of the Business Journal’s Real Estate Awards

Hunzinger Construction Company is thrilled that two of our notable projects from the past year were recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal with a 2018 Real Estate Award.

Milwaukee Electric Tool Company won “Best New Development-Industrial” while the Master Lock Company won “Best Renovation-Industrial.”

A panel of real estate experts judged each nomination. All of the winners were profiled in the Milwaukee Business Journal’s April 13th issue and honored at an awards luncheon held at the Italian Community Center.

DIVERSITY & OUTREACH COORDINATOR JOAN ZEPECKI RECEIVES GOLDEN CHAMPION AWARD

Hunzinger Construction Company is proud to announce that our own Joan Zepecki, Hunzinger’s Diversity and Community Outreach Coordinator, was awarded the Golden Champion Award for Leadership in Minority Business Development in the Wisconsin Construction Industry. The National Association of Minority Contractors awards professionals that exceed diversity and inclusion goals within the industry.

Zepecki is proud of Hunzinger’s $360 million worth of contracts with minority and women owned businesses, other contracts are with small or disadvantaged firms. Joan’s Hunzinger experience goes back to pre-construction of the Wisconsin Center and Miller Park projects. There she successfully worked with the owners, their boards, government officials, community members and subcontractors to develop successful inclusion strategies. She continues to build on those action plans ever since, with great results.

THE DAILY REPORTER AWARDS HUNZINGER FOR DIVERSITY IN BUSINESS

Hunzinger Construction Company was recognized by The Daily Reporter for leading the way for diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Joan Zepecki has served as Hunzinger’s Diversity and Community Outreach Coordinator since 1994, with the preconstruction of the Wisconsin Center Convention Center and Miller Park projects.

These projects included specific diversity and inclusion goals. 25% of all construction contracts were awarded to minority, women, small or disadvantaged owned businesses. Along with these contracts we met workforce utilization goals. This encouraged hiring City of Milwaukee residents, minorities and women.

Senior Project Manager Ryan O’Toole Awarded Director of the Year

Hunzinger Construction Company is proud to announce that Senior Project Manager Ryan O’Toole was awarded Director of the Year at The Daily Reporter’s 2017 Newsmakers of the Year awards banquet for his work at the Director of Commercial Interiors. The event took place at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee where nearly 325 construction and design industry professionals attended to honor 32 newsmakers.

As Director of Commercial Interiors, Ryan works with clients like Master Lock, Great West Financial/Empower Retirement, Old Republic Risk Management and Make-A-Wish Wisconsin to bring their vision for their new space to life.

Sustainable Building Solutions Director Phil Vetterkind Awarded Green Builder of the Year

Hunzinger Construction Company is proud to announce that Sustainable Building Solutions Director Phil Vetterkind was awarded Green Builder of the Year at The Daily Reporter’s 2017 Newsmakers of the Year awards banquet.

As Director of Sustainable Building Solutions, Phil works with clients like Dominion Properties where he led the LEED Platinum Certifications for the Sage on Jackson and Sage on Prospect projects, Wangard Partners Inc., Northwestern Mutual, Rockwell and Johnson Controls, Inc.. Phil recently completed the University of Wisconsin La Crosse Student Center that received LEED BD+C Gold certification and is now working on the new Field House project on campus as well. He is currently wrapping up the Steamfitters Training Center in Madison, WI and submitting the paperwork for LEED Silver BD+C Certification.
