REGENCY HOUSE CONDOMINIUMS

Regency House Condominiums located at 929 North Astor Street in downtown Milwaukee.  Hunzinger served as the construction manager on the original construction and Design/Builder for the infrastructure upgrades and renovation of this 28-story, 167 unit luxury condominiums that offer beautiful views of Lake Michigan.  Not long after construction was complete, the building was converted to condominiums and, through the years, some owners have combined multiple units to create spacious homes, each with its own unique floor plan.  The project included a 3-level parking garage, heated pool, exercise and party rooms and lobby with 24-hour doorman and valet service.

Recently, the Regency Condominium Association hired Hunzinger to design/build the installation of major infrastructure upgrades throughout the entire building.  Improvements included the replacement of all existing fan coil heating/cooling units, replacing 9 sets of both hot and cold water risers, and replacing and upgrading the fire/smoke detection, intercom system, and emergency lighting system in both the public spaces and individual units.  All the work was completed in 14 phases, while the building was occupied.  Life safety and emergency egress was maintained throughout the project to protect the residents.  We completed a full remodeling of public corridors and community areas, and many of the residents elected to replace their kitchen and bath branch piping and perform upgrades at the same time.
