Building The Future Together

MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION WISCONSIN

Community Partners

Make-A-Wish Foundation Wisconsinis located at 13195 W Hampton Ave, in Butler, WI. When the staff of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin needed help updating their offices, they turned to their friends at Hunzinger Construction and asked us to serve as General Contractor for the project. Hunzinger enlisted M&M Office Interiors and together we donated services and materials to renovate, update and expand their offices. The project included a major reconfiguration of work stations so a few more could be added. New furniture was added along with new finishes throughout the offices, an expanded and new data processing room, and newly expanded and appointed lunch room area.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin is a not-for-profit that grants the wishes of children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition and they believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer for these kids and their families. Since their founding in 1984, 5,000 children and their families throughout the state have experienced the transformative power of a wish. Last year alone, Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin granted a record-breaking 340 wishes. Hunzinger is proud of its longstanding relationship with Make-A-Wish. Both John Hunzinger and Kevin O’Toole have served as Board Presidents of the local chapter and Kevin has served on the national board for many years.

At Hunzinger Construction Company the sense of family and community is pervasive. Since 1991, HCC has been a staunch supporter of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. Once they granted their first wish — a tree house for Frank, they were hooked! That first wish resulted in a chain reaction of new donors, leaders and collaborators for the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin!

When Make-A-Wish Wisconsin needed expanded offices, HCC handled the entire office renovations as an in-kind donation and encouraged their supplies and subcontractors to do the same. Their leadership in building projects and innovation in construction goes way beyond bricks and mortar; it is woven into lives of Make-A-Wish children.
