HENTZEN COATINGS LAB RENOVATION

Hentzen Coatings Lab Renovation, located at 6937 West Mill Road in Milwaukee, is a manufacturer of high strength paint and coatings. Hunzinger Construction Company was hired to provide preconstruction services and general contracting for this 9,000 SF renovation. Strass-Maguire & Associates, Inc. an engineering firm from Mequon, WI served as the project designers.

The Hentzen Coatings lab renovation was completed in three phases to minimize any disruption to existing occupants and operations throughout the project. The renovation was also complicated by the facility’s many additions completed over the several decades since the building was originally built. The renovation involved the modernization of an existing lab, product testing, research and development facility and office space within the headquarters and the production facility. The new lab features state-of-the-art working and testing environments for the company’s technicians and scientists as Hentzen continues to be at the forefront of emerging coating technologies as is evidenced by their concentration on reducing emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (V.O.C.’s) and the continual redevelopment of environmentally friendly coating systems.
