American Family Insurance is located at W236 N1402 Busse Road in Pewaukee, WI. Hunzinger was the negotiated general contractor for this new 75,000 SF commercial office building with 20,000 SF of below-grade parking. The Durrant Group based in Dubuque, IA was the project architect.

This Class A office facility was built for American Family Insurance. It is a high profile three-story building with additional below-grade parking for 150 vehicles. Located prominently on a hill just off I-94 in Pewaukee, it and can be seen easily by passing vehicles. Hunzinger provided complete professional construction services for the project from preconstruction through commissioning. Hunzinger worked early in the process with the owner and architect to develop milestone budgets, schedules and value assessments adding value every step of the way. Hunzinger also self-performed all the concrete, rough and finish carpentry work throughout the project adding to the building’s high quality appearance.

It was a great experience being the project manager on this building because I had the chance to bring the client’s visualization to life. It was absolutely their concept, their vision, to create a prominent building on a highly visible site. American Family’s in house architect would visit the site and sit across Interstate 94, looking at the empty parcel of land, studying the topography to envision how the building would best integrate into the landscape, while creating a signature property for American Family. The result was a beautiful Mission-style building that absolutely accomplishes their goal.
