Construction Executive Gets Airtime on BBC
Kevin O'Toole, who is a co-owner of Hunzinger Construction in Brookfield, has played Summerfest and opened for national acts at Shank Hall in h2-Oh, his musical duo with Henry Lewis II. But he and Lewis experienced a new thrill last weekend when one of their songs aired on a British Broadcasting Corp. radio station.
O'Toole's music-industry connections led to Sam Leach, the original promoter of The Beatles, hearing h2-Oh's song "Strangers. " He recommended it to Spencer Leigh, host of the BBC Radio Merseyside Saturday night "Jukebox Jury," where new songs are played and judges rate them.
Two of four judges liked the tune, which was played after new recordings by Paul McCartney and Cat Stevens, said O'Toole. who listened online with Lewis.
"It was unbelievably cool," said O'Toole. "It doesn't get a whole lot better than that."
