Building The Future Together

Hunzinger recently completed the Sendik’s Food Market Fresh2Go store on the Marquette University campus in time for the 2017-18 school year. The Fresh2Go store — a smaller-format supermarket — will serve a community of students and neighborhood residents that long yearned for a place to shop for fresh produce and other food offerings.

Sendik’s and Marquette held an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the store on Tuesday, August 22nd. Among those present included the Balistreri family, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Alderman Bob Bauman and Marquette University president Mike Lovell.

The newest store is only 4,800 SF, but Sendik’s managed to stock the small-format supermarket to the brim. A salad bar, sushi bar, smoothie station and olive bar are all part of the store’s offerings. Departments found in a traditional grocery — like the floral, bakery and produce offerings — are all represented. The new grocery also features healthy snacks and single-serve meals and will offer its online ordering service, Sendik’s Express.

The Sendik’s on Marquette’s campus is the 19th store in the region for the Balistreri-owned Sendik’s and the 5th such project that Hunzinger has completed. It’s located at the northeast corner of North 16th and West Wells streets.
