Building The Future Together

Hunzinger Executive Vice President Kevin O’Toole, Senior Project Manager Scott Wendt and President John Hunzinger were all on hand May 28th to help the Milwaukee Brewers Celebrate the opening their new exhibit at Miller Park.  At the event, the Brewers unveiled the “Selig Experience”.  This new attraction tells the story of Bud Selig’s career in baseball, from helping bring the Brewers to Milwaukee to his tenure as commissioner of baseball.  The event included dinner on the field and tours of the multi-media show and was attended by over 200 dignitaries including Hank Aaron, Robin Yount, and new baseball commissioner, Rob Manfred.

Hunzinger Construction Company is proud to have been the general contractor for this 1,500 square foot interior renovation project of a Loge Level bar in the left field corner area into a state-of-the-art attraction to honor Commissioner Emeritus of Baseball and former Brewers Owner Allan H. (Bud) Selig.  This new free year round fan experience includes bench seating for 30-40 people where they will view a multimedia presentation that highlights Selig’s life in baseball from bringing the Brewers to town through his club ownership and service as Commissioner of Baseball.  Visitors will walk through a replica of his old County Stadium office and an adjoining space filled with an amazing amount of Selig’s unique memorabilia.

The design and production of the Selig Experience was led by BRC Imagination Arts, an experience design firm that turns brands into destinations and is based in Burbank California. Milwaukee architects Uihlein-Wilson also contributed to the initial design of the space.  Hunzinger crews met the challenge to deliver a space that met the strict acoustical sound requirements as the museum had to be soundproof from the games on the field and the stadium seats from the museum’s multimedia presentation.  Hunzinger self-performed demolition, rough and finish carpentry and concrete work for this incredibly complex and special project.
