Congratulations to Hunzinger’s Brent Arnold on receiving the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s Benjamin E. Nickoll Young Leadership Award on Thursday August 13th at the Pfister Hotel. Brent is active on the MJF’s board of directors, will participate in their Krakow Shofar Mission in September and will co-chair the George Weinstein Fellowship. He also co-founded the Jewish Wisconsin Initiative for a Sustainable Environment (J-Wise) and recently served on the steering committee for the 2015 Maccabi Games.

“We are very proud of Brent and he is truly a worthy recipient of this award. Brent is an enthusiastic leader at Hunzinger and has a positive can do attitude,” stated John Hunzinger, who spoke at the luncheon, attended by many of Brent’s coworkers. “When it comes to the not for profit community, Brent shines brightly. Brent successfully oversaw the installation of the Shofar Maccabi sculpture from planning through execution. The care and passion, Brent brought to this endeavor is a small glimpse of why he is so deserving of this award,” Hunzinger concluded.

The Award was established on the occasion of Benjamin E. Nickoll’s 80th birthday, in honor of his lifetime of dedicated service to the community. It is intended to serve as an inspiration to future generations so that others may become aware and emulate the lives of humanitarians. The Nickoll Fund is a permanent endowment within the Jewish Community Foundation.

Past winners of this prestigious award include Senator Herb Kohl, Stephen H. Marcus and the late R. Todd Lappin and Martin F. Stein. The program included greetings from Moshe Katz, Chair of the Committee and past Nickoll award recipient, Rabbi Noah Chertkoff, a message from Milwaukee Jewish Federation Board Chair Daniel Bader and the award presentation by Mitchell A. Nelles, also a past recipient. The luncheon concluded with a speech by Brent Arnold who spoke about the importance of staying connected to your community and utilizing social media to foster a sense of inclusion and tolerance.
