Building The Future Together

Hunzinger Construction Company is excited to welcome another fourth generation family member into the business. John Hunzinger’s (President) son, Michael, graduated in May from Colorado State University where he majored in Economics and History and earned his commission in the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant. Knowing that he wanted to be a Marine from an early age in his freshman year, Michael signed up for Marine Officer Training and attended Platoon Leader Class at Quantico, Virginia. He continued his Platoon Leader Training at the Quantico Base between his junior and senior year of school successfully completing the rigorous course of study and physical testing that less than half of those who enroll are able to complete.

Upon earning his bachelor’s degree, he participated in his Marine Commissioning Ceremony held in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 17th. His parents and all his brothers and sisters were in attendance. Later that week, Michael returned to Wisconsin to work in Hunzinger’s shop and yard with Danny Oderman until he reports to The Basic School in Quantico.mike-2

For Marine Officers, their first assignment after earning their commission is at The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, VA. In this intense six-month program, they build on the skills learned as an officer candidate to turn leadership potential into command experience. They begin specialized training to develop expertise in their chosen, or assigned, Military Occupational Specialty. Upon completion of TBS, Michael will serve his 4 year commitment to the Marine Corps.

We are so proud of his accomplishments, his commitment to serving our Country, and are thrilled to have him with us at Hunzinger.
