Hunzinger recently completed work on Progressive Community Healthcare’s new Lisbon Avenue Clinic located at 3522 W. Lisbon Avenue in Milwaukee. This new $11 million, 42,000 square foot, 3-story healthcare facility designed by HGA Architects and Engineers replaces their 8,500 square foot facility on the adjacent lot. This new clinic enables Progressive to serve an additional 11,000 patients annually and is a federally qualified health center providing services to primarily underserved, low-income populations in Milwaukee’s central city.
This project also had one of Hunzinger’s newest Assistant Project Managers working on it, Michael Jahns, who began his professional career in construction management this past June and immediately began spending time on site working alongside Project Superintendent Jim Callen. Michael graduated in 2014 from the University of Wisconsin – Stout with a B.S. in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration.
“It has been a great nine months, I have really learned a lot and Jim is an excellent teacher. I really appreciated his patience with me. He answered all my questions and really showed me the Hunzinger way of doing things the right way, the first time,” Jahns reflected.
“At Hunzinger, we have a pretty robust training program and Michael has been a great addition to our project team. He brought enthusiasm to his work that was really recognized and appreciated by our customer and his team members. His attitude was so positive and he attended to the many small details that helped make the project a huge success,” said Tim Van Dyn Hoven, Vice President and Project Executive for Hunzinger Construction Company.

Knowing what this clinic is going to do for this neighborhood made going to work very satisfying.
