2011 Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award Winner
The Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award was created to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of family businesses that make an impact on the Wisconsin business community. Hunzinger Construction received the Community Star Award in 2011 for their commitment to the community through, Troop Care Shipments, Charity Jeans, High Education Scholarships and construction projects dedicated to local non-profit organizations. Executive Involvement
John Hunzinger, President, P.E has served on numerous not-for-profit and community-based organizations including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Zink the Zebra Foundation, Wheaton Franciscan/Covenant Healthcare Board, Marquette University Construction Management Advisory Board, Milwaukee School of Engineering Corporate Board, and the Safe and Sound Advisory Board.
Executive Vice President, Kevin O'Toole's leadership skills have led to his appointment and service on numerous not-for-profit and community-based organizations including the St. Coletta of Wisconsin Board of Directors and Finance Committee as well as several positions with the Make-a-Wish Foundation where he is currently on the National Board of Directors.
 Charity Jeans Day
Charity Jeans is a program implemented by Hunzinger to raise money for local non-profit groups. Every month employees have the opportunity to donate $20 to the chosen organization, Hunzinger matches all employee raised money.  Make-A-Wish Foundation
Hunzinger Construction Company has been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for many years and has granted over 100 wishes to date. Employees at all levels of Hunzinger take an active role in supporting the Make-A-Wish foundation from volunteering to fundraising.  Troop Care Shipment Program
Since early 2006, Hunzinger Construction, along with other companies, community members, local schools and organizations, have donated and shipped over 20 tons worth of items. When we first began in 2006, we had one soldier in the Army that we were sending to every month, today we are happy to have supported well over 70 military units. To learn more please visit:
